ABOUT
THE AUTHOR

In 2009, Tifney moved to Kilauea on the island of Kauai where she learned to appreciate the aloha spirit and was inspired to write Share the Shaka.
While living on Kauai, Tifney’s passion for gardening, horticulture and flowers bloomed into a flower farming business paired with a destination wedding flower business.
Tifney was born and raised in Southern California. She graduated from Agoura High School in 1991 then embarked on a beach/college tour and lived in San Clemente, Santa Barbara, San Diego and eventually settled in Ventura, California, where she became a public school teacher, mostly at the middle school level. She taught many subjects but teaching math to sixth-graders was her favorite.
Tifney loves the beach, ocean, surfing, travel and dogs. Her golden retriever, Baker, is on all but two pages of this book. Currently living in Bend, Oregon, Tifney is landlocked and seeks to travel to surf destinations as much as possible. So far Australia and Mexico are her favorite places to visit.
